Russia On President Trump And North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un: ‘We Have to Calm Down the Hotheads’

Foreign Policy: Lavrov on Trump, North Korea: ‘We Have to Calm Down the Hotheads’

When it comes to the escalating, personal war of words between the tetchy leaders of nuclear-armed states, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov thinks there’s been inappropriate rhetoric on both sides.

Speaking at a press briefing at the U.N. General Assembly on Friday, Lavrov likened the war of words between President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to “a kindergarten fight between children. And no one can stop them.”

Trump threatened to “totally destroy” Kim’s country this week. Kim responded with an unusual personal address, labelling Trump a “mentally deranged dotard,” and floating the idea of exploding a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific. Trump, who has authority for thousands of nuclear warheads, then responded on Twitter Friday, “Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn’t mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!”

Update: Russia wants Trump and Kim Jong Un to calm down (Business Insider/Reuters)

WNU Editor: Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov is right when he said this today .... Washington won’t strike N. Korea as it knows Pyongyang has nukes – Lavrov (RT). But the problem is not what Washington will do .... the problem is what will Pyongyang do next.

There's two scenarios in the next few years

1. We don't do anything and north Korea will take over the south.
2. We get involved.

If 2, then it has to happen asap. Next year is too late.

So when will housing prices in Seoul start to drop? It's inherently apparent that we don't get involved. Arming the south with nukes is not really an option either. They won't nuke their brothers. But the north, under the leadership of someone who killed own family members, might.

Would not be surprised at all Fusion.

The media and other elements have gone out their way to make it look like that the North Koreans are now super-cyber criminals when it comes to that..

It was pointed at that the border between Russia and North Korea had a no go zone on the Russian side.

Some poster (not me) pointed out that Russia could ship stuff to North Korea and no one would see except by satellite. Therefore, there would be no reporting of this, if it happened.

Supposing this is true. That would mean that the Russian leadership is calm, cold, & calculating.

So calm, cold, & calculating keeps the world a safer place than hot heads?

I have read political leaders have kept things calm and not done things they wanted to do like invade countries, because they thought their opposition was crazy.

You can miscalculate is you are supposedly calm & calculating or a hot head.

At any rate the fault is North Korea, Russian and china. Why? Because North Korea is the aggressor and the other two are letting them aggress.
