President Trump Wants A 'Big Meeting' With Russian President Putin

The Hill: Trump pressing for big meeting with Putin: report

President Trump is reportedly pressing for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit next month in Germany.

But according to The Associated Press, some of Trump's advisers, including officials in the State Department and on the National Security Council, are not so keen on the idea and are encouraging more restraint.

A current and a former administration official told the news service that Trump wants media access and the normal protocol associated with such meetings.

What's my take .... both sides want this meeting .... President Putin has been pushing for it since the beginning of the year, and this blog predicted at the time that they will be meeting at the G20 .... When Will A Putin - Trump Meeting Take Place? As to what will be the outcome from such a "big meeting .... nothing much .... it will be their first face-to-face meeting, and they will be laying the ground work for a more formal summit in the future.
